Historical Note:

Fernando Rodriguez Casas was born in Cochabamba, Bolivia. He received his formal art education through "private art studies" with Don Ron Paul, the director of the School of Fine Arts in Cochabamba. After he completed his studies there, he pursued his B.A. in philosophy at Colorado College, and completed his M.A. and Ph. D. in philosophy at Rice University. Casas taught in the Humanities and Philosophy departments at Rice University for about twenty years, but is now a part of the faculty at the Women's Institute of Houston.

Casas has exhibited internationally and locally in both solo and group exhibitions and shows. He has published multiple writings on philosophy and related to his artwork. Some of the manuscripts and publications can be found in his personal papers. In 2003, he was invited to participate in the Florence Biennale, an international biennale for contemporary art, where he was awarded the Premio alla Carriera. Casas is now represented by Gremillion & Co. Fine Art, Inc.
