Scope and Contents: The collection arrived at the archives in relatively good order and in general the original order has been maintained. Materials in the collection include departmental records, extensive press clippings, and videos. The collection dates from 1948-1997 with most of the materials dating from 1977 to 1997. The collection is organized into eight series: Departmental Records, Building Dedications, In Memorium, In Appreciation and Resolutions, In Resolution, Silver Anniversary Certificates, Press Clippings, and Audiovisual Materials. The collection did contain a sizable amount of photographic materials in all formats (slides, negatives, prints, contact sheets, etc), that have been separated to form part of the UH Photographs Collection. The Office of University Relations also contained a large number of faculty vitas that were transferred to the Faculty Vita Records.
